Five Minute Friday For Kids Link-Up Coming This Week!
Have you heard of Five Minute Friday? It’s a link-up hosted each Friday at Lisa-Jo Baker’s site. Hundreds of bloggers take five minutes to write on a single word prompt and share them. When I decided to join up with them a few weeks ago, I thought it would be fun to include my three daughters. It seemed like a great journaling activity, and since they are always asking me if they can put things on my blog, I told them I’d take pictures of their work and post it here.
I can’t tell you what Five Minute Friday has done for our journaling time in our homeschool here! All of a sudden, my kids are looking forward to journaling time, at least on Fridays! So, we want to invite other kids, whether they are homeschooled or not, to join us. So, on Friday morning or Friday after school, check Lisa-Jo’s site for the word of the day, and then sit down with your kids, set a timer for five minutes, and all of you write (or draw). You can link up your work on Lisa-Jo’s site, and link-up your kids’ work here. Or put it all in one blog post, and link it up in both places!
If you don’t have your own blog, you can still participate. We are creating a place for you to post your kids’ work on this site. Keep watching this site throughout the week. (You can subscribe to receive it by email or as an RSS feed so you won’t miss anything.) My husband will be posting tutorials on how to create an account and post your entries.
We are looking forward to reading your kids’ thoughts on the word for this week. We’ll look forward to seeing you on Friday!

What a fantastic idea! I’ve been letting my kids help with the blogging. After all, they’re the inspiration of most of my articles. Thank you for sharing the information!
Thanks, Betty Jo! We’ll look forward to seeing you here on Friday. Please let your friends know too!
Great idea! I know in a few years my daughter will love this. Thanks for linking up.

I’m trying to include your button for Five Minute Friday: Kids’ Edition on my site. What is the html code for that?
Great! The html code is at the very bottom of the page, under the comments and everything. Thanks for joining us!
