Announcing a New Link-Up Starting Next Week!

Lifelong Learners Link-Up Button

I’m really excited to announce that I will be starting a new weekly link-up party here at Desperate Homeschoolers next week. I’m calling it the Lifelong Learners Link-Up, and I really hope that you will join the fun, whether as a blogger who joins by linking up their posts about learning or as a reader who is yourself a lifelong learner.

I’ve been thinking and praying all year about starting a link-up here at Desperate Homeschoolers. Probably the most rewarding part of blogging over the past few years for me has been getting to know the community of readers who gathers weekly for Booknificent Thursday over at my other blog,, and I really wanted to create that kind of community over here at Desperate Homeschoolers as well. There are tons of homeschooling link-ups though, and I wasn’t sure if it made sense to start another one. I just couldn’t shake the desire though, so I prayed about what the focus should be.

Lifelong learning is where I have landed. I have always wanted this blog to be a place that celebrated learning rather than celebrating homeschooling because I know that homeschooling is not for everyone. I do, however, believe that all parents should be in the business of nurturing lifelong learners no matter where or how their children are being “educated”! And we all can be lifelong learners ourselves, whether we are parents or not!

So if you have learned something or helped someone else learn something and shared about it on a blog, please come share it at this link-up party! It can be anything! Homeschool curriculum and weekly wrap-up posts are welcome, but so are recipe posts where you learned to cook something new! Did you learn something from a book you read and reviewed? Have you learned a new and better way to clean or organize your home or office? Are you learning how to do a better job at taking care of your body or your soul? Come and link it up!

The link-up will start each Monday morning between 8-9am Eastern US time and remain open until the following Monday’s post goes live. You may link up as many family-friendly posts as you want, and I promise to visit them all and comment on at least one of them. (If they aren’t family-friendly, I reserve the right to take them down.) I’ll also share some of them on pinterest, twitter, and facebook, so you’ll want to follow me there if you aren’t already doing so.

As for your part, please hop around and visit some of the other posts linked up. It’s always so appreciated when you leave an encouraging comment and/or share someone’s post on social media! And if you’d like to, please add the link-up button below to your blog and share about it. Just copy the html code from the box below the button and add it to your blog. The more we spread the word, the more our Lifelong Learners Link-Up community will grow!
