While I haven’t finished my entire series of posts about our studies of Children Around the World this year, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the fact that we have FINALLY completed our school year! Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade are done and dusted!
We have always done 36-week school years in the past, but this year, we kept getting so excited about the places we were learning about that we would spend an extra week or two learning about it. The girls finally realized that we would never finish this year if we kept doing that and so they stopped asking, which in some ways made me sad because I know we could have enjoyed spending a lot of extra time in Australia and several countries in Africa, but by the time we got there, we were all in “Let’s get this done!” mode.
Because of this, I will definitely consider taking two school years to do Children Around the World when I do it again with my boys in a few years.
Anyway, WE ARE DONE! And this mama is ready for a summer break! We’ll probably only take 3 or 4 weeks off because we’re all excited to get started up again. And I’ll keep posting about the countries we’ve learned about, so please stay tuned! I’m determined to get our entire journey from this year documented! Thanks for traveling with us! It’s been so much fun!
